Welcome to my first review! At least in blog form. I've decided to use this blog to do comic reviews, and up first is Thor #2 (2014) If you would like to know my basic thoughts on Thor #1, watch my October Comic Wrap Up on Youtube. Let us begin. So in Thor #1 we find out that our original Thor is no longer worthy to hold Mjolnir, and at the end of the issue a mystery woman takes his place. Thor #2 is the first issue in which we really get to our new Thor in action, since she only appears right at the end of the first issue. Basically the problem in this issue is Frost Giants.
Damn those Frost Giants always messing around. This time they are attacking Roxxon Island, home of Roxxon Energy Corporation. For some reason, Roxxon Energy Corporation has the skull of the Frost Giants former leader. Going by the asterix note, this is something that happened in the previous Thor series, Thor: God of Thunder, which I haven't read yet. The Avengers attempt to take down the Frost Giants, but get frozen. (Dejà Vu Cap?) Thor sees all these frozen Avengers, and panics a bit, because how is she supposed to handle the Frost Giants if a whole team of superheroes couldn't. She just got all these powers like a minute ago!
On the topic of powers, I kind of get the impression that Mjolnir, for lack of a better word, posses (?) her. That sounds wierd, but hear me out. She seems to have separate personalities, at least that is the impression I get. See, both thought bubbles and speech bubbles are used for Thor, which isn't unusual, except her thoughts and her words seem like they are coming from two different people, specially since her thoughts seem to be in a Midgardian dialect, but she speaks like an Asgardian. If I am right, this is a really intriguing concept that I hope gets explored more throughout the series.
Who exactly this new Thor is, we still don't know. Please, feel free to leave your theories in the comments.

This panel gives me the impression that she is someone associated with Dario Agger, but I literally no nothing about the guy, so that doesn't help me theory wise.
The art is this series is really beautiful. I love Russell Dauterman's drawing, but it is the colouring by Matthew Wilson that I particularly really really like.

Overall, this series is intriguing, and next month's issue look very interesting since at the end, she is left Mjolnirless, and will now have to fight the Frost Giant's without it. This issue also explored this new Thor dealing with all these new abilites she has, which I alway find enjoyable. She's very confused on how everything works, but manages to pick up on things very quickly. You go girl! I enjoyed this comic, and don't have any issues with it, other than still not knowing who this new Thor is! Tell me!!! That doesn't take away from the enjoyment though. So do I recommend this? Yes, but I would read #1 first, for context.
